Many Battles of the middle
highlands
Day 1: HCMC Arrival (D)
Transfer from Tan Son Nhat
Airport in HCMC. City tour
of HCMC (Saigon) including
the Reunification Conference
Hall (formerly the South
Vietnamese Presidential
Palace), US Embassy grounds
and the War Remnants Museum.
Overnight in HCMC.
Day 2: HCMC - Bien Hoa - Cu
Chi tunnel (B, L, D)
Morning drive to Thu Duc,
Bien Hoa and Long Binh
before departing for the Cu
Chi Tunnels. A dinner cruise
on the Saigon River.
Overnight in HCMC.
Day 3: HCMC - Quy Nhon - Kon
Tum (B, L, D)
Fly to Qui Nhon. Travel to
Kontum via Highway No.19
with stop over at An Khe and
Manyang passes, lunch in
Pleiku with local veteran's
representative. Overnight in
Kontum.
Day 4: Kon Tum (B, L, D)
Full day excursion into the
areas surrounding Kontum.
Visit a Ja Rai ethnic
village and the ‘Sea Lake’.
Visit some of the many
villages around Kon Tum,
including Kon Tonghia
village, Kon Robang and Kon
Hngor village.
Overnight in Kontum.
Day 5: Kon Tum (B, L, D)
Drive to Nhon Hoa Village
for an elephant ride
exploring the jungles in the
proximity of Ia Drang
Valley, hike in the
surrounding areas of the
ethnic people. Dinner and
entertainment with the
Montagnards. Overnight in
Kontum.
Day 6: Kon Tum - Buon Ma
Thuot -
Don Village
(B, L, D)
Drive to Buon Ma Thuot,
capital of Daklak Province,
to explore the areas
surrounding the last major
battle site of March
1975. Transfer to Don
village which is very famous
for elephants. Explore the
legend of traditional wild
elephant catching and taming
of the M’nong ethnic group.
Visit the Ancient wooden
house- on- stilts with it’s
laotian architecture. Visit
the tomb of the King of
elephant catchers before
taking a walk on the
suspension bamboo bridge.
Ride an elephant for 1 hour.
Dinner and Overnight in a
bungalow in Ban Don.
Day 7:
Ban Don - Dray Sap Waterfall
- Nhatrang
(B, L , D)
After breakfast, move back
to Buon Ma Thuot. You will
have a chance to enjoy a lot
of impressive waterfalls in
the Central Highlands. The
first one we will visit is
Dray Sap . Water falls down
from a high cliff, making
the water become mist which
looks like smoke. In Ede
language, “Dray Sap” means
“Smoke Waterfall”.
The same Dray Sap, Dray Nu
waterfall is created by the
Krong Kno river. Water
passes through steep cliffs,
making the waterfall
majestic. Visit Buon Ma
Thuot’s bustling regional
market. You can buy some
souvenirs before
transferring to Nhatrang.
Lunch stop on the way. Free
for exploration in Nha
Trang.
Day 8: Nha Trang (B, L, D)
After breakfast. Enjoy
Nha Trang countryside tour
by bike which will bring you
to charming villages with
ancient houses, traditional
professions, palm
plantations, fruit gardens,
etc. where you will
learn much about Vietnamese
cultures and country life.
Visit the Ponagar Temple,
then enjoy a pleasantly
healthy mud bath at the
hot spring nearby. Overnight
in Nha Trang
Day 9: Nha Trang -
Da Nang – My Lai (Flight)
(B, L, D)
Take
flight to Da Nang. Drive
straight to Quang Ngai
Province to visit My Lai
where the massacre took
place in 1968. We’ll tour
the site and the museum.
Then back to Danang.
Overnight in Danang.
Day 10: Da Nang - Hoi An
(B, L, D)
After breakfast, visit Cham
Museum and Marble Mountains,
which concealed a cave that
provided a safe sanctuary
for the guerillas during the
war. Depart for Hoi An.
Hotel check in. Hoi An is a
picturesque riverside town
south of Da Nang. Known as
Faifo to early western
traders, it was one of South
East Asia's major
international ports during
the 17th, 18th and 19th
centuries. You can visit
Quan Cong Temple, Phuoc Kien
Pagoda, Japanese Covered
Bridge...Overnight in Hoi
An.
Day 11: Hoi An - Hue
(B, L, D)
By vehicle from Hoi An to
Hue, the world cultural
heritage city. On the way
stop for sightseeing in Hai
Van Pass and Lang Co Beach.
On arrival in Hue, transfer
to hotel for check in.
Afternoon visit Hue Citadel,
site of a bloody street
battle between the NVA
(North Vietnamese Army) and
the US Marine Corps during
the Tet Offensive of 1968. A
continuation to visit Trang
Tien Bridge and Dong Ba
Market. Drive back for
dinner at the Garden Tea
House Restaurant and then
enjoy folk music on dragon
boat on Perfume River.
Overnight in Hue.
Day 12: Hue - DMZ -
Hue
(B, L, D)
Early morning departure for
the former DMZ
(Demilitarized Zone). Places
of military significance in
the area include the former
American Marine base of Khe
Sanh, the Rock Pile, Camp
Carol, Dakrong suspension
bridge, Tacon airfield, Lang
Vay special forces camp and
Hamburger Hill along Highway
9. Lunch at a Khe Sanh
restaurant. Visit the Truong
Son cemetery, McNamara’s
electric fence and the Ben
Hai 17th parallel dividing
the North and the South. On
the way back, stop at the
old citadel of Quang Tri,
site of a violent battle
during the NVA Easter
offensive of 1972. Drive
back to Hue. Overnight in
Hue.
Day 13: Hue - Ha Noi -
Ha Long (Flight)
(B, L, D)
Free time until transfer for
flight to Ha Noi. Transfer
to Ha Long. Hotel check in .
Overnight in Ha Long.
Day 14: Ha Long - Ha Noi
(B, L, D)
Relax on a 5-hour boat
cruise through magnificent
Ha Long Bay, a UNESCO
designated World Heritage
Site. Enjoy a seafood lunch
on board. Return drive to Ha
Noi, stopping en route at
the Dong Trieu ceramics
factory. Overnight in Ha Noi.
Day 15: Ha Noi - Departure
(B)
Free at leisure or go
shopping until time transfer
to airport for departure
with a lifetime of wonderful
memories.
